These changes are shown for the groups of breeding species that are most dependent on each habitat and for which long-term monitoring data are available (see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stateofthebirds.org\/2022\/methodology\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"1662\">Methods<\/a> for details).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Population rebounds of waterfowl show that when investments in habitat conservation are made, we can bring birds back.
